Ken Dobberpuhl

In 1998, after 9 years as a biology teacher and coach and 17 years as a manufacturers representative, I finally combined my passions and became certified as a fitness professional. Having been an athlete all my life and a teacher made for a natural transition in helping people empower themselves through education and exercise.

I have been active in Masters sports since 1980 including three Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon finishes, competitive cycling (USCF), trail running events, Ride & Tie, masters swimming, and martial arts.

I'm certified with NSCA (CSCS) & NASM as a Certified Personal Trainer and hold a certificate as a CHEK Golf Biomechanic and Lifestyle/Nutrition Coach, and USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach. I also currently teach/coach several strength training and fitness classes at Cabrillo College. My wife Judy and I live in Santa Cruz with our dog "Nalu" cat "Chaos" and enjoy surfing/water sports, triathlon, music (guitar), snowboarding and a passion for life and learning.
