Santa Cruz Triathlon

The Santa Cruz Triathlon Association owns and operates the storied Santa Cruz Triathlon. The race, originally called the Tin Man Triathlon and then the Sentinel Triathlon, was founded in 1982, eight years after the first triathlon raced in San Diego. Our first annual race, held on October 16, 1983, started a tradition that brings triathletes together from near and far.

Come race with us! 2016 registration is now open for all divisions: Olympic Open, Olympic Individual, Olympic Aquabike, Olympic Relay and Sprint Individual. Sign up now!

The Santa Cruz Triathlon is a non-profit event. Each year the race donates $30,000 to $50,000 to the Santa Cruz community! Proceeds from the event are donated to Santa Cruz County High School athletic programs, the UC Santa Cruz Swim Program, Cabrillo College Athletics, Santa Cruz Track Club, and the Santa Cruz Triathlon Association.
