To assist Santa Cruz Triathlon Association members prepare for their home town triathlons, the Santa Cruz Triathlon and the Santa Cruz 70.3 events in September, coaches Dave Liotta and Martin Spierings will host a series of three clinics in August. Each will focus on one of the three elements triathlon but will also include tips on nutrition, psychology and technology to help you perform at your best.
Dave Liotta has a Masters in Exercise Physiology at Chico State University and Martin Spierings holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology and Psychology from the University of Melbourne. The pair have fifty years of triathlon experience between them. Insights on strategies and tactics specific to
the local courses, from a racers perspective, will also be shared. Liotta finished the Santa Cruz (formerly Sentinel) Triathlon as high as 3rd overall in 2004 and Spierings 4th in 2008.
Clinics are free to 2017 Santa Cruz Triathlon Association members and there is a special $60 half-year membership, valid until the end of the year, which gives athletes access to all three clinics as well as the other benefits of being a member of the SCTA.
